A year in review... Where did the time go?!

What an eventful year to say the least. I know it's been quite some time since you've received a blog post. All I can say is there hasn't been much time to sit down and type. God teaches us all throughout the Bible that in order to produce and be fruitful you must keep moving. We are called to be in motion, it's where we learn, grow, and experience life at it's best.

This year alone, we were able to guide our church into being completely debt free. This has been weighing heavy on my heart for several years and I could not be happier about the decisions that have been made as a church family. I am quite certain that God is pleased by our progress as well. All of this was made possible, not because of some miracle, but by understanding that God does not intend for us to be held down by loans. But instead, to be free to grow, serve, and explore new ways of bringing others to Christ. All of which is easier without the debt.

In addition to helping in our church, we have been blessed to be able to work with the youth at our local elementary school to educate children during a recent career day. April and I both had a blast and look forward to going back soon. The response from the children was so overwhelmingly positive and the letters we received afterwards were amazing. We've also been able to sponsor the high school where April and I graduated and our banner is hanging high in the gymnasium where April played and later coached volleyball.

Although we didn't completely meet our goal of helping 100 families this year, we did have the opportunity to meet and work with some amazing people, that desperately needed our help. Our business is growing at a slow but steady pace, our brand is becoming a recognizable name in the community, and we are slowly winning over the trust of businesses and families in need. We couldn't ask for much more than that. We are truly humbled and grateful to be able to serve others in such a huge way and we are encouraged daily, hearing the stories of past clients, about how they are making better choices with their money.

As we rapidly approach 2018, I challenge each of you to look back at how your year went. Ask yourself, Did you make the most of your time? Did you continue to move forward? Did you course correct in areas where you may have failed? Did you Walk By Faith?

As scripture reads in Philippians 3:13-14 , "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have laid hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus.
